The musical year got off to a flying start with the visit of HRH Prince Charles. The 80 strong choir were involved in many practises for the visit and had to cope with not only fine tuning their singing of 'The      Pirate Song' but also with       actions that had to be timed to perfection and pirate hats that didn't need much encouragement to fall down around necks! Since then we have taken the song to the Saltash Music Festival where we won the Primary Schools Choirs class with 86 marks.

As a school, we are very keen on Samba and have recently, thanks to the PTFA, been able to     purchase our own instruments. The band have now played to Prince Charles, receiving the Royal approval with His Royal Highness tapping his foot to the samba beet and telling us he wanted the music to go on for longer!

Lessons are offered in keyboard, violin, flute, clarinet and         recorder, with a chance to join ensembles both in and out of school.

Music is really flourishing at Montpelier. This is due to the incredibly enthusiastic and     talented group of children       involved who just love singing and playing.
