OfSTED Report
|
During September of this year, we had a visit from some OfSTED inspectors. We are so proud of the report that we'd like to share it with you! If you want to know what they thought, read below for some brief highlights. We have a more detailed report, or you can go to the part of the OfSTED website which is relevant to Cumbrian primary schools. Simply scroll down the page until you find Lowick School, you can then download the full report (it may be up to 12 weeks after the inspection before the report appears).
· The consistently good teaching throughout
the school is a major factor in the standards that the pupils achieve in both
their academic work and in their personal and social development.
· The children are polite and friendly
to visitors and other adults.
· Children of all ages mix together
naturally.
· Even the younger children have
a genuine curiosity about each other's ideas.
· Older children take their independent
research seriously.
· The children have good attitudes
to learning and behave well at all times.
· The quality of relationships within
the school is excellent. This is a particular strength of the school.
· Throughout the school children
reach their potential and attain high levels, either in relation to their prior
attainment, or above those expected for their age.
| Sensory Garden |
The sensory garden continues to take shape, under the able direction of Mr Bill
Fox and his band of Wednesday evening volunteers. However, we need lots of brightly-coloured,
tactile or aromatic plants to fill the borders. If you are splitting bulbs or
transplanting seedlings and you have some left over, the school would love to
put them in the senses garden!
