about Space by children in Year 6Written after a visit to a church flower festival with the theme of God and the Universe
The sun, big, empty and bare
Earth, paradise in its emerald land and sapphire sea.
Stars, diamonds of hope twinkling in the endless darkness.
Rainbows, pathways of colour to Heaven.
God, Guardian of all, solver of problems.
High, mighty yet gentle and forgiving.
A tear of sadness for the evil in the world.
Jenny
Planets floating gently through space,
Asteroid trails looking like lace,
Comet jane heading to Saturn,
Its beautiful debris making patterns.
Whirling, twirling, getting quicker,
The fire behind it starting to flicker,
Boom, it's hit with a beautiful display,
The light is blinding - what an amazing array.
Andrew
Stars floating endlessly - will they ever find their destination?
A golden, shining path, the path to heaven,
Glimmering stars glistening down on earth,
The bright sun casting endless rays of light.
Richard
Garden of Eden
Like Mars
Stars glowing like lights
The Earth taking over the world
Golden sun shining
God striding along the path to heaven,
Stars dancing in the dark,
God's big tears dropping on the Earth
The rainbow making nice
Colours across the sky.
