Composition
Membership of the Governing Body is determined by regulation
and details can be found in the DFEE 'Guide to the Laws. At
present at Central Street there are 12 Governors including
the Head Teacher. The other 11 comprise 3 parents,1 teacher,
3 local authority nominees, 1 nominee from Hebden Royd Town
Council and 3 co-optees.
Parent Governors bring the views of parents to the Governing
Body and aim to ensure that all parents are kept informed
of developments within the school. The work of the Governing
Body is summarised in the Annual Report and at the Annual
Parents' Meeting held in the Autumn term.
Duties
of Governors
The
work of a Governor is likely to consist of a mixture of individual
tasks that they have been asked to undertake and their contributions
to the work of committees, working parties and the full governing
body.
Committee
Arrangements
The
Governing Body delegates much of its work to Committees. Detailed
terms of reference for each committee are determined by the
full Governing Body. The Committees at present are:
1. The Finance and Personnel Committee
2. The Curriculum and General Purposes Committee
3. The Management and School Development Committee
School
Inter-Relations
Staff,
parents and governors will endeavour to work together to create
a safe and stimulating environment where the interests of
the child are paramount.
